For welding 304 stainless to mild or carbon steel, 309 (wrought or cast forms), 304 clad sheets and for applying stainless steel sheet linings to carbon steel. Meets AWS A5.22. Class E309LT-1.

All-State® 309L is an electrode with excellent starting properties on all types of AC welding
equipment. The arc is stable, smooth, with fine spray weld metal transfer. The bead is uniform,
flat or slightly concave with straight-line feathered edges. Penetration is complete and the weld
metal is free from porosity. Slag is easily and completely removed without secondary film which
means less cleaning, grinding and polishing time. This electrode has good out-of-position characteristics.  All-State® 309L is used primarily in the overlay of steel where inter-granular corrosion must be kept to a minimum and for welding mild or carbon steel to stainless steel provided the service
temperature is less than 600°F (316°C). Carbon content 0.04% maximum.
